House Passes GOP Tax Bill, Sends It to Senate

The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the Republican Party’s tax-overhaul bill along party lines, by a 227-203 vote. The sweeping legislation permanently cuts taxes for corporations and temporarily cuts them for individuals. The Senate will now begin debating the bill and could possibly vote on it Tuesday evening. According to The New York Times, President Trump is expected to sign the bill—which will likely pass the Senate—into law by Christmas.
