The House of Representatives voted on Thursday, 227 to 205, to approve the Republican tax overhaul legislation. But the push is far from complete, as the Senate is still considering its own legislation. The Senate bill includes a repeal of the Obamacare individual mandate—which could serve to tank the legislation altogether—while the House decided against wading back into the health care battle and did not include a provision to ax the mandate. Thirteen House Republicans voted against the bill on Thursday, while zero Democrats voted “yes.” Ahead of the vote, President Donald Trump met with House Republicans to rally support for the plan, which would serve as the president’s first major legislative achievement if it gets to his desk.
