How to Pitch The Daily Beast Entertainment Team

The Daily Beast
The Daily Beast

The Daily Beast's Entertainment section is on the lookout for freelance pitches from great reporters of all backgrounds and areas of expertise.

Whether it’s the big stories that are dominating the headlines in Hollywood or under-the-radar scoops that are about to blow up, we are looking for talented reporters who can bring our readers a sharp take and essential context they won’t be able to find anywhere else.

We cover all arenas of entertainment—film, TV, music, sports, celebrity culture—with a specific eye toward the scandals and controversies that will get the internet talking. We love quick hits reacting to the news as much as news-making interviews and investigations.

Please familiarize yourself with our work before pitching and keep in mind that, above all, we are looking for original voices and perspectives that will connect with readers across our site and the internet at large.

Pitches should be brief (no more than 200 words) and include the topic in the email subject line and timeline for filing. If you have links to previous coverage on the subject, we would love to see those as well.

Rates start at $200 and are commensurate with experience and the scope of each individual piece. Pitches and questions can be sent to: Entertainment@thedailybeast.com
