Model of Hurricane Irma’s Path Now Includes Florida, Georgia and Alabama

As Hurricane Irma barrels toward Florida, it was downgraded to a Category 4 storm early Friday. Winds decreased to a still-powerful 155 mph, though fluctuations are likely during the next few days before the hurricane is expected to make landfall in the continental U.S. on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Texas-size storm’s track shifted west and northwest, and experts say it is likely to hit Florida dead-on before traveling toward the Midwest from Georgia and Alabama.
