Former president George H.W. Bush's final words were to his son and fellow former president George W. Bush, The New York Times reports. According to the Times, George W. Bush was at his Dallas home when he called his father and was put on speaker phone to say goodbye during the last hours of his life. “He told him that he had been a ‘wonderful dad’ and that he loved him. ‘I love you, too,’ Bush told his son. Those were his last words.” The elder Bush lived a peaceful life in his beloved Houston, Texas after retiring from the public eye. He passed away at home surrounded by friends and family.
