A UN watchdog group warned Monday that Iran is still withholding critical information regarding its nuclear development program. “Iran has yet to provide explanations that enable the agency to clarify two outstanding practical measures,” said International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano. “The agency is not in a position to provide credible assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran, and therefore to conclude that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities.” The U.S. is working with other world powers to broker a deal for halting and overseeing Iran’s nuclear development. The negotiations have been criticized, most notably by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said the world powers “have given up” on curbing Iran’s nuclear growth. The group has until the end of this month to establish a framework.
