Indiana House Democrats are back at the office after walking out Wednesday in protest of an anti-union bill. The so-called right-to-work bill would make it so employees at unionized private workplaces would not be required to pay union dues. Gov. Mitch Daniels, who has made the law his top legislative priority, lauded the Democrats' return. But House Minority Leader B. Patrick Bauer warned him not to get ahead of himself: “You know, we’re not chained to these seats ... If the majority does things radically wrong, we still have the right to break the quorum and move on for a day or two.” The House is back in session and the House Employment, Labor, and Pensions Committee will meet tomorrow morning to consider amendments, clearing the way for a full House debate.
