Indiana Mom Hid Son's Body for a Year

True Crime

After feeding him oil and vinegar, then wrapping body in blanket.

A horrifying story out of Fort Wayne, Indiana: After family members reported that Latisha Ann Lawson, 31, and her two children were missing, police tracked Lawson down—at which point she confessed that she had fed her 3-year-old son oil and vinegar until he stopped breathing in November 2009. Lawson then wrapped his body in a blanket and hid him in a closet; she told court officials that she was annoyed with his temper tantrums. Lawson and her daughter had been staying at a house provided by her church, where the local coroner said her son's decomposed remains were found inside a tote bag. Fort Wayne police are waiting for DNA test results to confirm that the body belongs to her son.
