High Alert

Interpol Warns of Escaped Suspected Terrorists

It's a plot straight out of a blockbuster thriller: Interpol released a global alert on Saturday to member countries asking for help in determining whether several prison breaks that occurred over the last month are linked. Hundreds of terrorism suspects have escaped from prisons in countries including Iraq, Pakistan, and Libya. The alert comes just two days after the U.S. State Department issued a worldwide travel alert and closed diplomatic facilities in the Middle East, South Asia, and North Africa in relation to possibly nefarious movements by al Qaeda.
