Dozens of men were duped Sunday by an intrepid New York City woman, who tricked them all into attending a mass Tinder date in Union Square. The scheme, reported by Gothamist Monday and chronicled on Twitter by one unlucky attendee, began when a woman named Natasha messaged each man individually and flirtatiously invited them to catch a DJ set with her at the popular Manhattan park. When the men arrived and approached the “DJ’s” stage, Natasha emerged, another attendee told Gothamist. “She wanted to do Live Tinder,” the man said. “She started calling the different characteristics she doesn’t like. ‘If you’re Puerto Rican and support Trump leave!’ ‘If you have a long beard leave.’ Then she did a competition.”
That competition, fortunately, was captured on video. The footage obtained by Gothamist shows a small group of men lined up for what appears to be a sprinting race. “The majority of the group, like 95 percent, were like aaahhh, watching as the fucking idiots fell in line to her demands to do push ups and run,” the man said. “She did a live swipe line, right and left. I left at that point.” Others didn’t even stick around for that: “I’m not saying that I have the most self-respect in the world,” another man told Gothamist, “but who the fuck would stay?” Not much is known about the mastermind behind the stunt: Her Instagram profile reportedly reads “Actress, model, singer,” but she did not return Gothamist’s request for comment.
