Iran is refusing to accept President Obama’s demand for a 10-year pause in nuclear activity, according to semi-official Iranian news agency Fars. The U.S. stipulation is “expressed in unacceptable and threatening phrases,” and “Iran will not accept excessive and illogical demands,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was quoted saying by Fars. He is also quoted as noting that “Tehran will continue nuclear negotiations with the six powers.” In an interview with Reuters on Monday, Obama framed the 10-year halt in nuclear activity as a must for securing a deal with Iran.
