Iran to Examine Alleged Plot

Iran said Monday that it would look into U.S. allegations that elements in the Tehran government orchestrated a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington. "We are prepared to examine any issue, even if fabricated, seriously and patiently, and we have called on America to submit to us any information in regard to this scenario," Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said. Tehran has so far vehemently denied the alleged foiled plot—which included planting bombs in Washington at the Saudi and Israeli embassies—calling the accusations “propaganda.” U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he has referred the alleged plot to the Security Council.
