Iraq Cancels $4.2B Russian Arms Deal

Iraq has called off a recent $4.2 billion purchase of arms from Russia due to concerns about corruption within the Iraqi prime minister's team, although one Russian military expert believes the cancellation is tied to pressure from Washington. The deal, said to include attack helicopters and missiles, was just signed in October. It would have made Russia the second-biggest supplier of weapons to Iraq after the United States.
