The U.S. as well as Iraq is trying to get airdrops of food and water to members of the secretive minority Yazidis after tens of thousands of them fled to the mountains from the town of Sinjar to escape Sunni extremists from the self-proclaimed Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS.
