Hurricane Isaac made landfall in southeast Louisiana Tuesday evening, battering the Gulf Coast seven years after Hurricane Katrina left the area devastated. The National Hurricane Center said Isaac’s center hit land at 6:45 in the evening about 90 miles from New Orleans around the mouth of the Mississippi River. The storm—which measures 200 miles from the center and has wind gusts of up to 80 mph-- is considered to sizeable, but isn’t expected to do as much damage as Katrina. That’s little comfort to New Orleans though, where winds have already reached 63 mph.
