ISIS militants burned 45 people to death in western Iraq, according to the police chief of the town of al-Baghdadi. The brutal attack is reminescent of the way ISIS killed Jordanian pilot Muadh al-Kasasbeh. It is unclear why this group of victims was selected, but some of them are believed to have been security personnel, said Col. Qasim al-Obeidi. ISIS secured control of much of the town last week and a compound that houses the family members of security personnel is under siege, according to Obeidi, who “pleaded for help from the government and the international community,” according to the BBC.
