A theater in Australia turned down a Jewish group’s request to hold a series of performances about the Holocaust there because it says it opposes Israel. “Our policy does not support colonialism/Zionism,” the Red Rattler Theatre in suburban Sydney told Hillel in an unsigned email. “Therefore we do not host groups that support the colonization and occupation of Palestine.” The theater did not respond to a request for comment on Monday. In 2010, the town’s city council tried to support the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel.
