Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer called comments by Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee that likened the Iran nuclear deal to the Holocaust inappropriate on Monday. “These are not words that I would use or that I think are appropriate,” the ambassador told USA Today. “We don’t in any way impugn the motives of the people who are doing this deal. I think it’s important to conduct this debate in a way that’s befitting of the alliance between our two countries,” Dermer said. Huckabee refused to apologize Monday for his comments that President Obama was marching Israelis to the “door of the oven” with the Iran nuclear deal.
