What? Widow Hermione? Blockbuster-selling author J. K. Rowling has revealed that she nearly killed off Harry Potter’s best friend, Ron Weasley, in the series. “Midway through, which I think is a reflection of the fact that I wasn't in a very happy place, I started thinking I might polish one of them off, out of sheer spite,” Rowling says in an interview with Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry in the films, for a DVD special feature. Rowling says that although she thought about it, in her “heart of hearts” she wouldn’t have done it.
