Sick of wrangling that desk and making up excuses to meander over to the snack area at the office? Swinging a hammer crushing your soul? Ever thought your life was going to consist of more action and adventure? Have a penchant for martial arts and want to wear your pajamas all day, every day?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, especially the last one, then it’s your lucky day. A town in Japan is seeking to hire a team of six ninjas to guard the historic Nagoya castle. OK, and also to do weapon demonstrations, displays of gymnastics and martial arts, and to take photos with tourists. The local government is seeking men or women, Japanese or not, although you will “have to be able to do backward handsprings and some dance moves.” Pay is around $1,600 a month. And bragging rights, of course, which are priceless.
And no, your job won’t include sneaky assassinations. This is a part of an effort to increase tourism ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. But still, it beats staring at Facebook while your boss thinks you’re slugging away at those TPS reports, right? Watch the video above for more info.
