In the final weeks of his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush loaned or gave his campaign nearly $407,000, new Federal Election Commission filings showed Sunday. Bush’s campaign spent $3.6 million last month, before he dropped out Feb. 20, and raised just $1.18 million during the same period. A large portion of the money came from Bush, who gave his campaign $56,983.50 on Feb. 1. He then loaned the campaign $250,000 on Feb. 2 and gave an additional $100,000 on Feb. 16, four days before the South Carolina primary. Since the beginning of his campaign, Bush funneled nearly $800,000 of his personal funds into his bid for the GOP nomination, raising $35 million in total. The former governor ended February with $465,000 in the bank and $452,000 in debt.
