Students at University of Texas in Austin are trying to get a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis removed from campus, and now vandals have defaced it. Scrawled across the sculpture have been the phrases “Davis must fall” and “Emancipate UT.” A majority of the Student Government adopted a resolution in March to have the statue removed.
