American Idol judges chose the first of their 24 finalists last night, and while they made five would-be stars very happy, Jennifer Lopez was charged with axing Chris Medina, a young Texan with a brain-damaged girlfriend. Medina seemed to take it better than Lopez, who broke down when he left the room.
