Less than 10 days after a top NFL official acknowledged a link between chronic traumatic encephalopathy and football, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he thinks any connection between the two is “absurd.” “We don’t have that knowledge and background, and scientifically, so there’s no way in the world to say you have a relationship relative to anything here. There’s no research,” Jones said at an NFL owners meeting Tuesday. Pushed on the issue, Jones said, “No, that’s absurd.” On March 14, the NFL’s senior vice president for health and safety, Jeff Miller, was asked in a congressional hearing whether or not a link had been established. “The answer to that question is certainly yes,” Miller said.
