Jerusalem Gay Pride Attack Victim Dies

A 16 year old who was stabbed and critically injured in an attack on last week’s Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade has died. Shira Banki succumbed to her injuries at Hadassah Medical Center on Sunday afternoon. In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Shira was murdered for courageously supporting the principle that each and every person has the right to live their life in security and respect.” Netanyahu also called for the perpetrator of the attack to be prosecuted. “We will not allow this loathsome murderer to undermine the basic values upon which the Israeli society is based,” he said. “We staunchly condemn this attempt to sow the seeds of hatred and violence among us and will act to bring the murderer to justice.”
