Rev. Jesse Jackson has now thrown in his two cents, saying on Saturday that the proposed mosque near ground zero will ultimately prove that the United States is a tolerant country, despite the furious debate. “It's an acid test but we'll pass the test," Jackson told Al-Jazeera. Jackson also stressed that linking the entire Islamic faith with the attacks on September 11, 2001, is a mistake. “Many immediately associated that with Islam, which is just unfounded, untrue,” said Jackson. “Muslims were killed and Christians and Jews, black white and brown in the attack 9/11.” It’s “just fundamentally wrong, it is unsound” to blame an entire faith for the attack, said Jackson.
