Like the Republican primary, Jessica Simpson’s pregnancy is seemingly never-ending. This week, the pop star took to Twitter to confirm that, yes, she’s still pregnant and no, she hasn’t given birth yet. She also talked about her recent dream, where she was rushed to the hospital in “a leopard caftan. Fabulous! … Now I need to find one.” Welcome to the new celebrity phenomenon: the more-than-9-months pregnancy, thanks to our oversaturated news cycle and paparazzi who photograph baby bumps around the clock. Here’s a look at stars that seemed pregnant for 100 years—at least.

In 2010, PopEater noted that Jessica Simpson pregnancy rumors came around every year “like eggnog at Christmas time.” The star quashed speculation that she was expecting (with her football-player fiancé, Eric Johnson) by downing tequila shots. Last Halloween, she posted a picture of herself in her mummy costume and Tweeted, “I’m going to be a mummy.” She further grabbed headlines with her butter-on-Pop Tarts cravings and a naked cover shoot for Elle magazine. And her pregnancy weight has been a hot topic on morning TV. On The View, after Joy Behar called Simpson “fat,” Sarah Palin came to the singer’s defense on the Today Show. The only thing we don’t know: her due date.

In 2010, pregnancy rumors followed Mariah Carey for months prompting husband Nick Cannon to take to Twitter to say that if his wife had any announcements to make, she would do it personally. In May 2010, Carey pulled out of a Tyler Perry film, further fueling speculation. It intensified even more in August 2010, when Carey stepped out in some loose-fitting gowns during a concert in Brazil. In October, she and Cannon officially announced the pregnancy, and simultaneously revealed in an interview with Access Hollywood that she previously had suffered a miscarriage. This time, the couple was blessed with healthy twins, Morrocan and Monroe, born in April 2011.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was already a mother of two when word leaked in October 2012 that she was pregnant. However, it wasn’t until the following month that she confirmed the news. The baby was the first with then boyfriend (and now husband) Kroy Biermann, football player with the Atlanta Falcons.  Baby boy Kroy was born in May 2011, and the couple wed in November. But Zolciak seems to be forever pregnant, thanks to reruns of the Bravo reality show. In March of this year, Zolciak announced she was pregnant again.

In 2007, Tori Spelling became a first-time mom when she gave birth to son Liam, her child with husband Dean McDermott. A year later in 2008, she gave birth to daughter Stella. The couple welcomed their third child, Hattie Margaret, in October 2011. Then just five months after giving birth, Spelling announced she was expecting her fourth child. “The doctor said, 'Wait six weeks [to have sex],' and Dean was like, 'They tell everyone that.' We didn't wait that long with Stella or Liam," Spelling said at the launch of her book, CelebraTori, earlier this month. "I was like, 'Well, I don't want him to think that the sex is going downhill,' so now we're on baby No. 4."

In 2001, Jennifer Lopez was rumored to be pregnant with the baby of then boyfriend Cris Judd, whom she married later that year. However, the marriage came and went with no baby. Soon after, she famously began dating Ben Affleck. Bennifer ended—and again, no baby. In 2004, Lopez tied the knot for the third time with Latin singer Mark Anthony, fueling more pregnancy rumors. It wasn't until 2007, however, that the rumors proved true. The couple announced at the end of their El Cantante tour that Lopez was pregnant. In 2008, Lopez gave birth to twins Max and Emme.

If you believed Internet gossip, then Beyonce had a four-year pregnancy. Reports about her bump started in April 2008, soon after she and Jay-Z tied the knot. In 2010, the rumors surfaced again when US Weekly reported the couple was expecting. It wasn’t until August 2011 that Beyonce said she was pregnant with her first child, making the announcement during a performance on MTV's Video Music Awards. The paparazzi provided plenty of shots of the singer’s baby bump during the high-profile pregnancy, until Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, in January.

Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren announced in December 2007 that they were expecting their first child together. Alba gave birth to a girl, Honor Marie, in June 2008. The following month, Alba made international headlines when she told UK’s Cosmopolitan that she’s never “felt less sexy” than during her pregnancy. Then in 2011, Alba surprised her fans by announcing on Facebook and Twitter that she was pregnant. She gave birth to their second girl, Haven Garner Warren, last August.

Hollywood’s endless awards circuit shed light on Natalie Portman’s ever-growing belly in 2010 to 2011, when she eventually won the Oscar for best actress for her performance in Black Swan (and kept walking the red carpet in bigger and bigger gowns with her fiancé and costar, Benjamin Millepied). In July, she finally gave birth to her son Aleph.

Heidi Klum has been pregnant four times—in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009—having two girls and two boys. This meant that she often appeared on Project Runway in maternity clothes, giving the impression that she never stopped being pregnant. During her most recent pregnancy, in 2009, she posed semi-nude for Page 6 magazine. "The last month is unbelievable, how rapidly your stomach goes," Klum said. "The thighs, the butt—everything explodes in the end."

How many times has Jennifer Aniston been pregnant? In recent years, OK Magazine has put her on the cover with the headline “Pregnant at 40!” The National Enquirer had the scoop on “Jen’s Pregnancy Secret” (with a list of the bachelors that could be the father). While she was dating John Mayer, Star magazine ran the cover, “Twins for Jen.” And Life & Style had the screaming headline, “Finally, a Baby,” with a glimpse into the supposed fertility doctors that helped her. But Aniston, who is dating actor Justin Theroux, has never said that she’s been pregnant. The tabloids just want us to think she always is.
