Georgia Rep. John Lewis, Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski, and contest-winner Na'ilah Amaru formally nominated Hillary Clinton as the Democratic party's presidential candidate on Tuesday. The pair of barrier-breaking lawmakers came after hours of speculation and rumors that Sen. Bernie Sanders would officially nominate his former Democratic primary rival. More recent reports, however, have suggested Sanders will simply ask his home state of Vermont to submit a unanimous vote for Clinton’s nomination during roll call.
