A New York appeals court denied on Tuesday Nafissatou Diallo's request for a special prosecutor, meaning that a Manhattan judge's order to drop all criminal charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn is now official. This completes a stunning reversal of fortunes for the ex-IMF chief. In his first public statement since being charged with sexually assaulting hotel maid Diallo, Strauss-Kahn says that the past months have been "a nightmare" for him and his family and that they're looking forwarding to returning to France. Her civil suit against him remains.
