After a dramatic seven-month trial that has captured the nation, a judge will rule Tuesday on whether four men are guilty of raping a 23-year-old woman on a New Delhi bus and then murdering her. If convicted, the men could be sentenced to hanging. The government set up a "fast track" court for the trial, which took an unexpected turn when a fifth defendant hanged himself in his jail cell, to make a ruling as fast as possible. "We live every day, we die every day for this verdict. Our child, before she died, said such people should be burnt alive," the father of the victim—who has still yet to be named due to Indian law—told Reuters in an interview.
