Jurassic World dominated the weekend box office, pulling in an estimated $204.6 million. That makes it the biggest so far of 2015, and the second-best ever opening weekend behind 2012’s The Avengers. It also took in $307.2 million overseas, bringing its total haul to $511.8 million. This is the first time a film has brought in more than $500 million in an opening weekend. Melissa McCarthy’s Spy came in second with $16 million, while The Rock’s San Andreas took third place with $11 million. Rounding out the top five were Insidious: Chapter 3 with $7.3 million and Pitch Perfect 2 with $6 million.
