A suicide bomb plot on Fort Riley Army base was foiled on Friday when authorities arrested a 20-year-old Kansas man as part of a federal sting. John Thomas Booker Jr., a former Army enlistee, was allegedly in the final steps of his plan when he was arrested without incident near the base. Booker had gone so far as to film a “martyr video” and, according to the complaint, telling another person “that detonating a suicide bomb is his number one aspiration because he couldn’t be captured, all evidence would deb destroyed, and he would be guaranteed to hit his target.”
