An emotional Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, jumped into the grave of his assassinated brother during the latter's burial Wednesday in a display of grief. “My message for them [the Taliban] is that my countrymen, my brothers, should stop killing their own people,” Karzai said at the ceremony. “The real man is the one who can save people’s lives.” Karzai’s brother, Wali Karzai, was one of the most powerful men in southern Afghanistan, and his death is expected to set off a power struggle.
