A bit of a blow for Prince Harry's wonderful Invictus games project - Kate's people have confirmed the morning-sickness-struck Princess won't be in attendance.

Her spokesfolks at Kensington Palace issued a brusque statement this morning, reading, "The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games this evening or the Athletics event tomorrow. The Duchess's attendance on the forthcoming visit to Malta will be kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time."

Kate is believed to be less than 12 weeks pregnant, and is suffering from the same severe brand of morning sickness that blighted her pregnancy last time round.
