Kerry: U.S. Will Negotiate With Assad

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM

Two previous attempts have fallen through.

While speaking on the fourth anniversary of the civil war in Syria, U.S. secretary of state John Kerry called the conflict “one of the worst tragedies any of us have seen” and said the U.S. will “have to negotiate in the end” with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Two previous attempts at negotiating with Assad have fallen through, but Kerry said the U.S. was pushing for a third round.
