North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has promoted his sister, Kim Yo-Jong, to a position within the ruling party’s politburo. According to AFP, she has worked in the propaganda division and is often seen next to her brother on “field guidance trips.” On Saturday, Kim defended his country’s recent nuclear tests. “The nuclear weapons of the DPRK are a precious fruition borne by its people’s bloody struggle for defending the destiny and sovereignty of the country from the protracted nuclear threats of the U.S. imperialists,” he said.
