Kimye Said To Buy $175,000 Bed

KEEPING UP WITH TDB

About a month ago The Daily Beast tried out Savior Beds’ Royal State Bed – which has a ticket price of a $175,000. Comfortable? Yes. Worth it? Probably not. But now America’s most-famous duo has taken a tip from us as sources say Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent more than $1 million on six of these beds.

Daily Beast columnist and global business editor Daniel Gross was given the opportunity to try out the $175,000 “Royal State Bed” by Savior Beds.

Built for a king, the bed features luscious cashmere, horsehair, and lambswool—only for the heads of royals such as young Prince George Alexander Louis. But now, America’s royalty wannabes have taken a tip from The Daily Beast, perhaps even scored the same one our writer snuggled, and allegedly purchased six of the beds for their home.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been looking to upgrade their swanky Bel Air home post—baby North West. A Daily Mail exclusive reported Kimye is renovating their $11 million home—this $1 million-plus purchase of just beds being part of the changes. But that’s nothing when they’ve also spent hundreds of thousands on gold-plated toilets. Yes. Toilets. A source said the couple plans on spending double on the interior of their home as the exterior, The Daily Mail reported.

The bed was designed to commemorate the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign—and the bed company only produced 60 Royal State Beds. The bed includes cashmere from Mongolia silk from Suffolk and a crest made by the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court—the place that made Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.

According to The Daily Mail, proud owners of the bed also include Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Elton John, and Oprah Winfrey. Kimye is brushing elbows, and pillows, with the world’s finest. The home already has a hair and makeup salon, bowling alley, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball court, movie theater, and custom gym, the article reported. No recording studio for Yeezus? Slacking.

Alistair Hughes, in an official statement on behalf of Savoir, said, “We don’t kiss and tell. As a rule, we do not comment on clients’ private orders—we leave that to our clients. Suffice to say, with a bed like this Kim and Kanye would have little excuse to leave their bedroom.”

We don’t kiss and tell either—but it seems Kimye may be taking some home decorating tips from us over here at The Daily Beast.
