Amar’e Stoudemire had surgery to repair a muscle in his left hand on Tuesday, after injuring it when he punched a fire extinguisher glass case following a loss to the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs. Stoudemire will miss Game 3 against the Heat on Thursday, and the Knicks have listed him as doubtful for Sunday’s Game 4. There is a chance that Stoudemire will be out for the rest of the season, in addition to the two other star players the Knicks have lost this year. Jeremy Lin is recovering from knee surgery, and Iman Shumpert tore a knee ligament in the team’s opening playoff game against the higher-seeded Heat.
