Americans for Prosperity, the conservative advocacy group funded by the billionaire Koch oil family, confirmed on Friday its financial ties to two Wisconsin nonprofits—which happened to be founded by Mark Block, Herman Cain’s campaign manager. One of the two groups, Prosperity USA, reportedly paid $37,000 in expenses for Cain’s presidential campaign; Americans for Prosperity said it is reviewing its “financial dealings” with the organization. It is illegal for nonprofits to pay campaign expenses. Cain has promised an investigation into the matter, and his lawyer said they “take these allegations very seriously.”
