Wayne LaPierre, the CEO of the National Rifle Association, isn't buying Obama's whole keeping-kids-safe thing. At a convention in Nashville Thursday, LaPierre said the State of the Union address exposed President Obama's “charade” that gun control is about “keeping kids safe in schools ... They only care about their decades-long, decades-old gun-control agenda,” he said. “In an hourlong speech, nowhere were the words ‘school safety’ to be found.” While Obama did not, in fact, mention those two words, he did say: “What I’ve said tonight matters little if we don’t come together to protect our most precious resource: our children.” At his Nashville speech LaPierre renewed calls to put armed guards in every school.
