A lawyer for recaptured drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman said Wednesday his client wishes to be extradited to the United States because Mexican maximum-security prison guards won’t allow him to sleep. According to the lawyer, guards “torture” El Chapo by repeatedly waking him up; and the cartel leader hopes to negotiate with U.S. authorities for a lighter sentence and a medium-security prison stint.
