Leslie Jones’ Twitter Harasser Milo Yiannopoulos Banned for Life

Encouraged users to disparage her.

Twitter permanently banned Breitbart writer Milo Yiannopoulos on Tuesday after he encouraged users to harass actress Leslie Jones, who was subsequently targeted over her gender and race. Jones, the Ghostbusters actress, had announced she was leaving Twitter over the tweets she received. Yiannopoulos has been suspended numerous times and had his Twitter verification revoked. “People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter,” a spokesperson for the social network said. “But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others.”
