Libya Cuts Internet Amid Protests

Huge new rallies planned for Sunday.

Libyan protesters rallying for President Muammar Qaddafi's resignation have vowed to continue demonstrations on Sunday, saying the violent crackdown by security forces has only fueled their determination to forge on. Fending off troops’ attacks, many of Saturday’s ralliers are sleeping outside overnight and planned a massive new rally for Sunday. One man in this group told CNN reporters, "Our goal is simple: We want Qaddafi to leave. We want freedom...We want democracy." Meanwhile, Libya’s government shut off the Internet on Saturday, and has steadfastly blocked images of the protests.
