The Libyan army cleared a key part of Benghazi from Islamist militants Tuesday after two years of deadly battle. Citizens took to the streets to celebrate returning to their homes, while others waited for soldiers to inspect for potential booby traps. The army on Monday managed to push into the district of al-Laithi, and took control of a port and a hospital. Fighting continues in other parts of Benghazi, particularly in southern and western parts of the city.
