‘Life-Threatening’ Blizzard Still Going

The National Weather Service is predicting that the blizzard hitting the Northeast could dump as much as an additional 24 inches of snow in some areas on Tuesday. The storm has affected roughly 20 percent of American households, with millions of workers and students housebound, thousands of flights canceled, and governors from various states banning cars from the road. While sustained winds are expected to hit 40 mph, in Nantucket gusts as high as 78 mph were recorded.
