Since incest is so hot on TV these days, it must be time to bring back Flowers in the Attic. Lifetime is making a TV movie of V.C. Andrews’s 1979 book about four children forced to live in an attic for years to atone for their parents’ sins. Heather Graham will star as the children’s mother, and Ellen Burstyn as their grandmother, The Wrap reported Tuesday. The book spawned a big-screen adaptation starring Kristy Swanson in 1987. It did modestly well at the box office, despite being panned by critics. The new film is part of Lifetime’s push away from “ripped from the headlines” movies, including the recent Steel Magnolias remake, which earned Alfre Woodard an Emmy nomination.
