The famously down-to-earth 30 Rock star and creator donated this simple Stephen Burrows dress in fall 2008, just as her Sarah Palin impersonation on Saturday Night Live was beginning to dominate election coverage. Fey also does charity work to benefit autism research and world hunger.

Huffman has been a longtime supporter of Clothes Off Our Backs and has donated gowns since 2005. The athletic Desperate Housewives star, who has been known to participate in triathlons, keeps her awards-show outfits sleek and simple, as with this simple, retro little black dress.

Always one for whimsical red-carpet looks, Emmy Rossum donated this LBD by Thakoon (a favorite of Michelle Obama), which is detailed with bows and white stitching. It went for a whopping $900 at last year’s auction, supporting YouthAIDS.

The Damages star is no stranger to mixing fashion and philanthropy. In 2007 she designed a pair of shoes for the Stuart Weitzman charity shoe auction; the proceeds went to ovarian-cancer research. She donated this draped Alexander McQueen dress, a departure from her normally demure style, to this year’s LBD auction.

In keeping with her usual pinup style, Simpson, who is also a spokesperson for Operation Smile, donated this halter dress from her own line, the Jessica Simpson Collection. It’s on the block for the foundation’s latest auction, starting at bids of $100.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz joins her older sister by helping out the January 2010 LBD auction, and donated this BCBG Max Azria dress, which she wore to the designer’s Spring/Summer 2008 show. Simpson-Wentz should know a thing or two about the little black dress—she currently stars as the slinkily clad Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway.
