Jared Loughner’s lawyers are keeping the insanity defense in their pockets: He pleaded not guilty Monday to federal charges of trying to assassinate Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and attempting to murder two of her aides. Separately, he’ll face state charges for the other victims in his alleged rampage, which killed six people and wounded 13.
