Bad American art is far more interesting than bad British art, argues Jonathan Jones.

Jonathan Jones extols a new exhibition of Andrew Wyeth paintings at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, drawing a questionable parallel between Wyeth and another king of Americana, Clint Eastwood. Still, writes Jones, middlebrow American paintings have got a serious leg up on their Brit counterparts. “There’s a drabness to a lot fo respectable British culture that American artists just are not capable of.”
