Sen. Lindsey Graham added more credibility to the claims that Donald Trump cheats at golf, according to secret testimony he gave in the Georgia election interference case.
Graham, who was questioned by prosecutors in 2022 about Trump’s refusal to concede the 2020 election, said, “If you told him Martians came and stole votes, he’d be inclined to believe it.”

When prosecutors then asked the senator, who is often Trump’s golfing partner, about the president’s unsportsmanlike golfing habits, Graham admitted that not everything was on the level.
“Some people say you may outdrive him, but you’re not going to outdrive his caddy,” he said, The New York Times reported. “It is what it is.”

Last summer, Trump, 79, was caught on video more than once appearing to cheat with the help of his caddies—first in Scotland in July, then in New Jersey the following month. In one clip at his overseas course, Trump is shown in his cart following two men up the fairway when one drops a ball for him to play.
Those clips spurred experts to question Trump’s frequent boasts of winning golf tournaments.
“He can clearly step up to a ball and strike it, but when it comes to the short game, he looks like he’s going to be found out sooner or later,” coach Craig Normansell told the Daily Beast. “It certainly doesn’t look like the level of someone who’s won 18 club championships.”
Trump certainly appears to be playing enough to prevent any rust. By the end of 2025, he had spent 88 days—one quarter of the year—at a golf course, according to the Trump Golf Tracker.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about what Graham told prosecutors.
The more questions arise about Trump’s golf game, the more he seems to brag. In a Thanksgiving phone call with troops, he claimed to have won 38 golf titles.
Golf writer Rick Reilly, who wrote the Trump book Commander in Cheat, said the real number was zero.
